A very high energy mailing list of women web designers. Learning, networking, trying out things, ranting about things, but having a good time sharing what we do for a living. Women Designers Group was started by Susan Sheehan in April 1999 as a resource for women web designers and developers. The group originally consisted of about 25 women, specifically invited to join because each one was an expert in some aspect of design, that when pooled together provided a core of knowledge for the group to grow.
We have grown to a group of over 250 women (at one time we were over 860!) from every corner of the globe, but we all have one thing in common... the desire to continue to learn and the willingness to share our knowledge with others. We have narrowed our focus to just women in business, owning a company that does web design or development, but members wear many hats.
In July 2003, the list was handed over to a long-time member, Donna Donohue of KidoImages Web Site Development. "DJ" as she is known to the list has been learning and contributing to the list since June of 1999. She vowed to keep the list going for the women involved and for future entrepreneurs who need some support.

You can find a lot of information right here on this web site but the really good stuff is on the list. Keep in mind that our e-mail list is usually quite active and generates about 50-100 individual e-mails per day. You can receive a digest version or read the archives on the web.
If you would like to join the group, we do have stringent qualifications. You will need to own a web design business and have a portfolio of work. In order to advertise in our directory of designers, you must be a member of the mailing list for 3 months minimum. We want to insure the quality of the designers in the directory. We have many features available for members only, and we add more every month. So if you meet our qualifications, then hop on over to our sign up page and submit your application.
